It all started in 1914 under a banyan tree in Tongaat Section, where the Shree Veeraboga Vasantharaayar Sarithuram (Prophecies of Kali Yuga) was read. It was also here that the idea of the Shree Veeraboga Vasantharaayar Dharamah Pareepaluna Mudam (SWDP) originated.

From a very humble beginning with a wood and iron structure established in 1900, the community in Verulam can now be proud of a well planned institution comprising the temple and community hall to which is attached a dining room.
