LOGO CONCEPT

The basic metaphor in our logo is that DISA is represented in the process of drawing knowledge from our cultural heritage and making available online in digital form - represented as the 'pixel' pollen at the top - which researchers can then collect in order to use for their own research, and by means of collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas ultimately producing new knowledge. As a plant draws what it needs from the land to produce a flower, so does DISA draw what it needs to ‘flower’ online, acknowledging that this is only made possible by co-operation and shared contributions in the process of unlocking resources for research.

The three petals symbolise the three aspects of DISA: first in building content to support research and development; second in providing training and third in providing services such as consulting and technical guidance.
