"Ukhezo"

A medium sized wooden carved spoon. The middle part of the handle is decorated with carved- in triangles and rectangles.

Over 20 care bears were made by the 1st Empangeni Brownies pack in  just over 2 months . In an act to help alleviate the underprivilege by also providing tinned foods that will also be distributed to the Empaangeni Child and Welfare society . its all about giving a hand .

"Imbhenge"

A small sized telephone wire basket known as 'Imbhenge in IsiZulu' . It is brown, white and blue in color and is used as a kitchen utensil.

Susan Winter , 9 year old , of the 1st Empangeni Brownie pack excelled on a Christmas card she entered in a competition and she was chosen as one of the 5 winners .

"Ugqoko"

Small Wooden carved meat dish in a butterfly design with handles on each side and four small legs. It came from Umvoti in KwaZulu- Natal.

A 14 year old girl guide displays her founders badge , which is considered the highest honour for a girl guide . this award was given to her in recognition of her service to the girl guide movement . she already has 47 proficiency badges and 4 collective emblems.

" Zulu Wooden Spoon"

Wooden carved spoon with a long handle that has a block in the middle. It belonged to the Mangwaneni clan from Estcourt in KwaZulu-Natal.

Claire Gilfillan a standard 8 pupil at Girls College and a member of the 2nd Pinetown Girl guides who was recently presented with one of the last founders badges in the country.

Guider Mrs Zugus was represented with bronze award for saving the Shanti Guide Camping Grounds at Phoenix. She was extremely suprised and honoured to receive this high award.

Miss Munick, a well known guider and former teacher at Northlands Girls High School receives her springbok badge for representing guides on an overseas tour to the Far East. Miss Munick is dressed in stepping-out gear.

The Stanger and District movement held a day of fun and games including working with arts and crafts , as well as painting each other at  the Stanger Manor Primary School recently.

" Ithunga"

Wooden carved milk-pail with two small handles(amasumpa) on each side and a large hard carved incision around the body. The milk- pail is sitting on a small stand and it came from Enyokeni KwaNongoma in KwaZulu-Natal.
