The mother of Mxoveni, Velabengasho and Mkhafuleni Khumalo. Her name was Qhamkile ka Makhoba Khumalo. She was an isamgoma, a diviner. Her top knot is a wig. Her bandolier of respect, isikhafulo, is worked in crochet. Her skirt is from blackened neat's leather. |

We are leaving Mxoveni's wedding in time before rain started. To the left Laduma' favourite wife Ziphelaphi Mhlongo. On her white woolen cap a feather from a guinea fowl demonstrating her being a medicine woman. This feather brings good luck. |
