Overport house. Built c 1864. Durban's earliest mansion built by William Hartley, Natal first banker and mayor of Durban in 1959. Built miles from the centre of town. It was demolished c.1967.

Lighthouse and signal mast. The old lighthouse at the end of the bluff, was erected in 1864. it was considered too easy a target during world war II and as a result was demolished owing to it being a landmark on the Durban skyline.

Coedmore in Stainbank nature reserve. Erected in c.1885 for the Stainbank family. Unusual mixture of Scotish Baronial with veradhas. This estate was one of the first farms in Natal. The greater part of the estate was handed over to the public as nature reserve.
