Both Brownie Packs attended Guides on the 14th for the flying up ceremony . Brownies who flew to guides were; Jane Keen, Caroline Keith, Michelle Engler and Robyn Hatcher.Brownies that walked up were; Helen Keen, Elaine Egerton , Carol Howes kim Morillion and Cynthia Harvard.

Brownies meets their leader. Pitermaritzburg Brownies and Girl Guides gathered at Lexden Scout Camp at Wembley yesterday afternoon for the official visit of the provincial Girl Guides Commissioner, Mrs. Ethnie Bain.

Whites and non-whites marched under the South African flag at the annual Guide Sunday service, which was held in the Durban City Hall. Coloured, Indian and white guides from Durban District attended the ceremony. seen leading the march is Mrs J.Couzens,the district commissioner of Westville.

The Kloof guide/ scout hall was officially opened by his worship the Mayor of Kloof, Counciller Fred Herbert at 3pm on sunday , May 5th 1973. Addresses were giveb by the mayor , Mr M Scott, Natal Divisional Commissioner boy Scouts and Mr F.K.W. Ross the chairman of the building committee.

The new district Commissioner for Guides and Brownies in Alexandra County, Mrs Rhona McLean , being presented with her warrant badge by the Provincial Commissioner. Mrs E.R. Bain, at a special ceremony in May.

12 Brownies of the 18th Durban Cato pack who are pupils of the open air schoolfor the handicapped, they are going on their first holiday to the girl guide Brownie House at Fairfell, Northdene.

A tree planting ceremony was held in the Scout Hall at Greytown. By selling fruit the company of the five guides purchased three tress and shrubs which they planted as part of a competition.
