A Barn dance for scouts and guides early in december resulted in a local guide company raising R20, which was given to the pietermarizburg girl guides associations.

The annual Girl Guide and Brownie divisional swimming gala was held Empangeni on October 27th. This is the second year that the gala has been held and proved most enjoyable to all who attended .

To welcome the chief commissioner of the girl guides Association of South Africa, Mrs Phyllis, Greenwood to Pietermaritzburg held a dinner in St. Mary Hall.

The 1st Empangeni Guides and Brownies parents evening held at M.O.T.H. Hall. The guides and brownies mostable entertained an audience with many amusing skits, and also a formal display of flag raising and lowering. This was done with an obvious deep regard for their flag.
