Brownies and Guides from Mtubatuba, Mkuze, Ubombo, Empangeni, Eshowe, Melmoth, Kwambonambi and Richards Bay congregated at the Moth Hall, Empangeni to celebrate Thinking Day. Thinking day is an annual event to celebrate the joint birthday of lord and Lady Baden-Powell.

History maker: For the first time in Zululand history, a local Guide has been chosen to be a South African representative at an international Guide camp in Austria. The camp from mid-july untill mid-August, will be attended by more than 500 delegates.

Every Brownie and Guide group has a sister link company in another country with whom it corresponds. at the thinking Day celebrations Belinda Holtzkamp of Eshowe, dressed in the uniform of her American link group, brought greetings to Zululand from Arizona.

Mrs. Maurice Liddell, O.B.E. Mrs Liddell was chairman of the Publication Committee at H.Q. from 1954-1959 and she served as International Commissioner, C.H.Q. In 1960 she was awarded the silver fish. She died August 1981.

Guides attend Jamborette: A multiracial group of the 13 South African Girl Guides who attended the Jamborette held recently in Austria.

120 Anniversary celebration: The team of runners who took part in the relay carrying torches from North and South Coasts.
