With the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Shastri, as the High Commissioner of India to the Union of South Africa, Indo-South African relations have entered into a new and significant stage. From the international point of view, its importance is second only to India's participation in the League of Nations. From the standpoint of inter-imperial relations of India within the British Empire its importance is even superior to the inauguration of the appointment of High Commissioner of India in London ; because the High Commission€r of India in England is oot clothed with the power of transacting.........
