Samarpan Pandit Nardev Vedalankar. Veda Jyoti Souvenir Brochure, Nov 1988
This issue of Ved Jyoti is dedicated to its founder, Pandit Nardev Vedalankar, on the occasion of his 75th birthday. His work in the community has been outstanding, earning the appreciation of everyone involved in our religious and cultural organizations. There comes a time in everyone's life when one feels the need for a break - in Panditji's case, a break which is thoroughly well- deserved and long-overdue. Panditji decided earlier this year that he would like to visit India and spend some time at the Vanaprastha Ashram at Gurukul Kangadi, Haridwar. The Arya Pratinidhi Sabha approached Panditji on several occasions in order to arrange a function and see to it that the entire community has an opportunity of expressing its appreciation. Panditji refused to hear of
it. Finally, at the insistence of Pandit Harishankar, it was decided with due respect for Panditji's own feelings in the matter that a programme be arranged. Originally it was to have been the task of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, which would incorporate all the other institutions with which Panditji has been associated. However it was later decided that it would be a joint undertaking of all these major organizations.
