Later was sold to Payne of Payne Brothers merchandising firm. It was then sold to Senator Clarkson. Guests included field Marshall Smuts. The home came into the passmore family (who had a racing career racing and breeding horse) in 1920. The house was put up for sale in 1985 at a price of R285.000.
