This article was published as part of a study project on external investment in South Africa and Namibia, entitled The Conditions of the Black Worker. The accelerated pace of industrialisation has affected Africans because of the demands for labour. This has drawn Blacks into the urban and industrial situation on a vast and unprecedented scale.
