Indians in the Union of South Africa

There are 252000 Indians in South Africa today. The majority of these are descendent of Indian workers indentured by the Government of Natal from 1860 onwards. These Indian workers came to South Africa at the express desire of the Natal Legislature and under terms agreed between the Government of India and Natal.....
