This mass meeting of the Indian community, convened under the auspices of the Natal Indian Congress, hereby place on record its disapprobation of the Immigrants Regulation Act recently confirmed by His Excellency the Governor-General of the Union, and since the said Act deprives the domiciled Indians of their existing rights, and vests in the Minister autocratic powers, this meeting respectfully appeals to the Union and Imperial Government even at this eleventh hour, as it has done more than once previously during the passage of this Bill, to intervene for the protection of the rights and interests of British Indian subjects of the Crown and condemns the continuance of the £3 tax on ex-indentured Indians
