E.A.R Innes (1852-87) A protege of Harry Escombe, this young man spent the last six years of his life as a harbour engineer of Durban. He died from an infection contracted from the mangrove swamps in the bay. |

The late Sir Michael H. Gallwey, K.C.M.G. Born at the Cork in 1826 and died at Maritzburg last week. He came to Natal in 1857 as Attorney-General, having been appointed to that post by the Home Government. He was Chief-Jutice in 1890-91. |
