This programme looks at Self respect and respect from others. To elaborate further, Arts and Africa looks at "Muriel at Metropolitan", a novel by the South African writer Miriam Tlali. The book tells the story of Muriel, a black shop assistant workinh in a white-owned department store that sells electrical goods and furnisher.
