A Fort Napier barrack-room, also built of local shale by garrison troops under the direction of the Engineers about 1846. Regular soldiers regarded the Fort Napier barrack rooms as the coolest and most comfortable of their billets, chiefly because of the thick shale walls and pantile roofs. This building has now been demolished.
