This grim photograph illustrates the carnage which resulted form aerious tactical errors by the Bristish command. Neither the British superiority in numbers nor in guns was used to advantage. Deneys Reits, authgopr of the classic Commando, estimated the 600 British soldiers were killed in the battle. The Bristish admitted to 381 dead.
