19 January 1959: Time heals. Eight years have passed since the battle of Isandlwana. In this picture, taken yesterday on the anniversary of the battle, two people, descendants of people from opposite camps, talk not of the hatred but the glories and heroism of that day. While the memorial service was being held, Xasu Tusi tells young John Emmett, of Vryheid, the anecdotes his father told him. Tusi's father was one of Cetywayo's soldiers. Before his father died, still carried the marks of a British bullet, there were many things he told the youthful Xasu who shared those tales with his young White friend.
