Letter from Judith Todd to Phyllis Naidoo

Thank you SO MUCH for the copy of the actual Constitution of South Africa and the booklet that goes with it. I know that it is sinful to be envious and I must confess that so many of us Zimbabweans are completely sinful as we are so envious in so many ways of you South Africans!

Letter from Judy and John to Phyllis Naidoo

We received a letter from an American friend asking "whether we are involved in all the hard times in Africa - it sounds horrible". There are certainly ·"hard times" here in Southern Africa, particularly for the poor and unemployed.

I want to say a bit of thank you for all those lovely gifts you sent & that amazing tray. It's become a permanent decoration in my meal. When it was shown to the lady who helps with garden and wh has a wonderful way of converting odds and ends.

Letter from Julian to Phyllis Naidoo

This comes to give you very loving greetings of this season. Of course, you will be most specially in my prayers. Thank you for telling us about the tragic death of Sandy Jackson. We do think very much about her husband. The kind of shock one can never get over.

From the hospital, where I have been since 4/5/80. I become very emotional when I receive letters from loved ones and your loving letters of the 12thhas shattered me more than you realise.

Your two heart breaking letters received yesterday dated 10/6/80, and one today dated the 17th have left the entire family speechless with grief.

Thanks for your 3 letters received with all the news.

Letter from Kaka to Phyllis Naidoo

Thanks for the letter of the 8th. Yes my dear, my loving departed brother would have been 75 on the 10th.

Letter from Kate and Brian to Phyllis Naidoo

Your heart must be breaking. That you find the strength to go on is a statement to you inner resources. You have lived out your idealism, turned anger and frustration into very concerted action, being the support and the shield of so many.

Letter from Kate to Phyllis Naidoo

Carole and Steve continue to live in Washington DC. I suspect that you mixed up their address with someone else. What you wrote on the envelope looks like a New York City street address (perhaps their old address when they were in graduate school at Columbia upon their return from Harare?).

Letter from Kate to Phyllis Naidoo

This holiday season let us believe that together we can make a difference. Peace on earth and goodwill to all. Thank you so much for your letter of the 23rd January, 1997 which arrived today. I doubt very much whether this will reach you before you leave on the 13th February.

Letter from Kathy to Phyllis Naidoo

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and wonderful description of the wonderful 19 July event. It was such a wonderful description that I felt like we were right there! I just appreciate so much the time and effort that you took to give me your unique account of the happenings.

Letter from Kathy to Phyllis Naidoo

Fern and Monroe arrived rather tired and drawn looking. Especially Fern looked as though she had had a hard time meeting all the Gilmours. You can imagine that it would be difficult! Right now they are in Goshens which is about 15 miles from our house.
