Kobina Asiedu Aboagye is one of the many Ghanaian poetry perfomers and is talking to Patrick Quarcoo about his best known poem called Aeeko to the revolution.

This programme is on poets and their poetry. In particular, the poetry of Patrick Quarcoo who is best known as someone who interviews celebrities from politicians to poets,though he is a considerable poet in his own right.

This program comes from Sierra Leone, and the music from Burundi. The guest artist, Olayinka Burney-Nicol, comes from Freetown, Sierra Leone. She trained largely in the United States and also in London.

We look at the work of two contemporary sculptors, and they could hardly be more fifferent. From Zimbabwe, the legendary Henry of Tengeneenge, an untrained artist who stumbled upon sculpture by accodent at the age of 36.

In this programme we meet two young artists, one paints and the other writes plays, who left Africa when they were old enough to have absorbed a lot of their own culture but when they had still to complete their education. 

Alex Tetteh-Lartey talks to Hukwe Zawose, a man with a remarkable ability, with him came fellow Tanzanian, Emmanuel Makala. Hukwe Zawose play the Maramba, the largest sanza or thumb-piano. he has been playing together with his fellow musicians from Bagamoyo College in Tanzania. 

Alex Tetteh-Lartey in this programme had the opportunity to spend some time chatting with a visitor from Khartoum - Farah Eissa Mohammed, tape librarian in the University of Khartoum's Institute of African and Asian Studies. His particular interest is traditional music.
