This programme commences with a mistery voice. The puzzle is not whose voice but where? The language is Kimbudu, at least a form of Kimbudu. But the community who use this language live not in Angola where it comes from, not in Africa at all, but in Brazil. Dr Kubik, an ethnologist and musicologist from the University of Vienna in Austria visited Arts and Africa to share his enthusiasm for the Zairean guitarist, Mwende Jean Bosco and the research he has been doing since 1974 on the remnasnts of African culture to be found in Brazil.
