This episode began with the news of one of the most prestigious cultural awards in Africa, the Noma Award for Publishing in Africa, which was established in 1979 by the Japanese philanthropist, Shoichi Noma, and is open to all African writers and scholars whose work is published in Africa. Angolan poet Antonio Jacinto was the winner of the Noma Prize for Publishing in Africa.
