Is it a problem that has anything to do with students? The answer of course is yes, because apartheid involves humanity as a whole. While injustice exists everywhere in the world, it is only in South Africa that it is enshrined in the supreme law of the land.
Apartheid-the policy of institutionalized racial discrimination-is in many ways an ideal subject for teaching because it is an extreme case condemned by the world at large. Just because their skin colour is not white, the majority of people in South Africa are denied their fundamental human rights. It is a practice that has been condemned by the United Nations as a crime against humanity.
