Inanda was entirely rural until the 1950’s. Thereafter because of drought and apartheid policy which aimed at undermining indigenous people from rural areas, people could not cope with the pressure exerted upon them by these situations. They moved towards Durban seeking jobs where they had no residential area prepared for them. Forced removals at Cato Manor in the 60’s also contributed to the increase of the inhabitants of the area....
