I heard a little while ago that you were seriously ill. Then I saw and heard you with Cape Town bid. You were in Switzerland. Then I read in the Sowetan that you were ill again. Whatever is the matter?

The papers say yore having a spell of brickbats being hurled at your new appointment to the SABC, So sorry. You don't  deserve this. This is a bouquet to wish you well and I am certain you're going to do a great job.

Your letter dated 8/10 arrived on the 9/10. This was stamped in Pinetown 3600 on the 7/10 - So it’s obvious that your typist is ahead of time. I’ve been reading Kontakion and found on that same day a card from Dori sent while she was ill.

The new order is certainly giving us a view of the prison system that most literate people never had before. A social worker on radio said our jails are filled with our brothers and sisters and perhaps we need to be reminded of this as well as we look at the crime and violence in our country.
